OREGON TRAFFIC ACCIDENT REPORTING REQUIREMENTS By: AJ (Anne Johnson)
Everyone needs to be aware that any driver involved in an accident that results in any of the following is required by the DMV to file an "Oregon Traffic Accident and Insurance Report" form #735-32 (5-07).
These are required to be filed within 72 hours of the accident. If this is not possible, the report should be filed as soon as possible. Failure to do so may result in the suspension of your driving privileges. If an accident involves a commercial motor vehicle (meeting certain qualifing criteria) a separate report called a “Motor Carrier Crash Report “ form # 735-9229 needs to be filed within 30 days whenever the following applies.
NOTE : If you are involved in an accident in another State, they all have their own reporting requirements and forms, so you should be checking a DMV office within the applicable State or online for their requirements. If you have any questions please give us a call. Happy Motoring!
