Who Needs Flood Insurance? Everyone! By Lisa Smith Heavy Rains, a blocked creek, or inadequate drainage can all lead to floods. This can leave you with damaged walls and floors, ruined stock and equipment, drenched carpets and furniture, mud and debris. Flooding is the most common and costly natural disaster. Damage from flood can only be insured by Flood Insurance. Consider this: Flood can happen anywhere, even in areas no one believes to be high risk. 20% to 25% of all NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program) flood insurance claims are paid to people with property in low-to moderate risk flood zones. Flood insurance is the best way for home and business owners to financially protect their property and possessions from flooding. An estimated 25% of all businesses never reopen after a local disaster. Contact our agency for further Flood Insurance information.
