What about
the elephant? Why that's Kandu, the symbol
of our mission statement, "Team Kandu."
Some years
ago, a large brass elephant was purchased by Agency staff
and placed in the lobby of the first office on Gateway Loop.
The elephant was a curiosity for clients and visiting carrier
representatives and soon the question 'what do you call it?'
was widely heard. The Agency had a contest to name the elephant,
and the name chosen was Kandu. Kandu is the perfect mascot
for an organization dedicated to meeting all our clients'
insurance needs.
Visit
our office in Springfield, and you will see many employees
proudly wearing a Kandu necklace or pin, a gold elephant
with a diamond on its trunk. That's KPD's way of saying "thank
you" for the dedication and loyalty of employees with
over ten years service with the Agency. You will see many
when you visit.
Oh, and
by the way, Kandu is still in the lobby of KPD!
