What’s with the Elephant?

Some years ago, the agency staff purchased a large brass elephant for the lobby of our first office on Gateway Loop. The elephant soon became quite a curiosity among clients and visiting carrier representatives who often asked:”What do you call it?” The only thing to do, of course, was to hold a contest to name the elephant. The winning name was Kandu.

We think the characteristic intelligence, strength, strong family bond, and pride of the elephant makes it the perfect mascot for ‘Team Kandu’, an organization dedicated to the mission of delivering the best possible solutions to all our clients' insurance needs.

Visit our office in Springfield, and you’ll see many employees proudly wearing a Kandu necklace or pin of a gold elephant with a diamond on its trunk. That's our way of saying thank you to our employees for their dedication and loyalty for over ten years of service to KPD.

Oh, and you’ll still see Kandu standing strong and proud in our lobby.
